Because this is only a demo, the demo server uses HTTP instead of HTTPS. But make sure you use HTTPS when deploying the demo in production.

(You may need to enable "Developer mode" in Chrome to run this.

Somewhere in the web application you can instruct the user to install this browser extension. You can say something like the following.)

Hello, you need to install this Chrome browser extension for the app to protect your data better.

This will make sure your data are encrypted safely in your browser, and can't be decrypted if someone gets a copy of your data from the servers: they won't be able to decrypt them. The encryption keys are sealed safe inside the browser extension and can't be stolen.

To install the browser extension please:
  1. Click here to download the browser extension.

  2. then find in Chrome the Window menu and click on Extensions.

  3. drag-and-drop the extension from your Downloads into the Extensions page in Chrome, and select Add in the window that pops up.

This will open a new page in Chrome. Follow the instructions in that new page, and when you see a message that says "Success" then you can close this page that you are reading now.

(By the way, if you are developing Joan and just restarted the webserver, refresh this page to store a new cookie in the browser.)
